You are so right about moms and dads being with you forever.
This is a good remembrance of her and her pearls of wisdom. I think the part on the bra was a little harsh but true. Then you would have to stuff it.
Sorry for your loss. My mother would have been eight-seven on June 2 this year if she were still alive and my father would also be 87.
Congrats on placing second in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan

Hi, Sally - It's 6AM and I am happy to say that I started my morning off with one of the most beautiful tributes to a mother that I've read. I could picture her saying all those clever pieces of wisdom. The gifts of herself that she left you are priceless.

One of the reasons I returned to writing after my mom (and my husband) passed was because they enjoyed it and really wanted me to do it. My mom was 101 on April 1st. She lived to 97 (almost 98). I miss her with every breath I take. She was my sounding board, my support, my strength, but then you probably think the same as well you should.

Your tribute is well written and filled with love. Smiles and best wishes for a wonderful day. Carol

Carol, thank you so much! I'm so honored by your kind words and generous stars. I'm so very touched by this! Please accept my condolences in the collective losses of your husband and mother.

I hope to get by and read yours, the title sounds spiritual. I am blind and memorized Psalm 23 years ago. I'm so glad I did and put it in my heart. God and His word are very comforting. Thanks you, again!
    Blessings always,
    Sally XOs....

What a lovely, humorous, loving tribute to your mother. I think she would have gotten a kick out of this piece.
So the boys would have gotten full college tuition, huh? That's hilarious!
There's lots of wisdom in them there quips!

Just a small typo in the following: "All of us love Christmas, know that's it better to provide..." should be "... that it's..."

Really enjoyed reading this. I would have loved your mother; I too get tangled in the thees and thous!

Thank you for the lovely review and for the catches. My copy editor missed that! I need help due to my blindness and my voice over text has a mind of its own. I really appreciate your kindness.
Sending you my best today as always,

I'm not blind and my computer still has a mind of its own and insists on using it more often than I'd like!
    All the best.

She sounds like she was quite a lady, with a lot of sense. And it might be fun writing epitaphs for the wicked. I can imagine her sense of humor. I think I would have liked her. You know, that might make a good contest. Write an epitaph for the most wicked person you know.

Thank you for the wonderful review of my tribute. She was very special. She raised me and my siblings single-handedly of which I have written volumes already. I thought I'd add another. Sending you my best today as always,

Hi this was good. I thought I wrote a review on it already. Louise's Mum is a June as well. Louise's parents have never understood her. We watched that movie set in Europe about the Deaf family and the daughter that had to do all the signing for them. Louise cried as it brought back so many memories and the real sense of release when she married me and left home.

Sally:

There is nothing like having a family member with a dry wit, is there?
My dad would have 100 on March 8th had lung cancer not gotten the
best of him in March 2002. The Wizard of Oz is the first movie I ever
remember seeing, sitting on the foot of my parents' bed when I was
4 or 5 years old.

I loved your story.

Our mothers will always be a part of us, and although we didn't always like what they said, they were usually right. What a great idea to record the things you remember her saying. This would be a excellent way to remember anyone. This is a nice memorial to your Mom. She sounds like the kind of lady with would be fun to know.

This gave me all the feels! WOW~

The picture set the mood for me and then reading her sayings, took me back. Some I'd heard before. It was fun getting to know your Mom. The color of her hair , her personality. You did such a great job of showing me how we live on with such an imprint from them, on our lives.

Since losing my Daddy, I cherish those imprints more now. See some of them a little different. Thank you for a walk down memory lane. Your mother sounds like a treasure.

Thank you for the beautiful review and generous stars, dear Rebecca. It is so appreciated. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I know losing a parent is keenly felt. I lost my father long ago to alcoholism; my mother raised me and my siblings single-handedly. She really was a treasure. Sending you my best today as always,
    Sally XOs....
