Dear Author,
Your exceptional treatise about stargazing and astronomy are amazing.
Its form is great as you use well-chosen adjectives. Your description skills are really good. I am an extremely amateur stargazer with medium powered binoculars. I can't wait for clear skies in summer.
You've penned a great work.
Best wishes for the contest.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for your wonderful comments supporting this piece. I am glad the colorful descriptions were able to make this moment of discovery come alive for you. I have great clear skies down here sometimes, nice and dark and great for stargazing. Got a great view of the Saturn Jupiter conjunction. estory

It was a pleasure and at the same time, a discovery to read about the sky above...even if I am not savvy at all in this nature. i just like to look up, specially in starry nights.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for your words of support for my little piece. My father was the one who instilled in me the love of music and astronomy. I became fascinated with looking across the sky at these incredible places in the universe; the planets, the distant galaxies, the exploded stars and star clusters and nebulae. It gave me a great appreciation for God and the universe he created for us. estory

I can say that you know how to draw the attention of the reader in this wonderful passage: " star studded outlines of ancient hieroglyphs; those mysterious, almost sacred constellations. My father would point them out to me and tell me their names: Orion, the warrior, Taurus the bull, Gemini the twins. Hercules the hero. Pegasus the magical, flying horse. They seemed like the archeological remnants of lost civilizations to me, evidence of tales from the dawn of time. " Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings

Thanks so much for the excellent review and sharing how much you thought that particular passage worked so well to draw in the reader. I was hoping for that very effect. estory

What a wonderful time to share with your father. You write very well and make information interesting. The only tiny thing wrong was the word "at" in the last sentence of 3 paragraph.

Hello estory.
That is a wonderful story. The fact your father had the patience and skill to craft a telescope. I was touched reading of the time you and he spent together studying the mysteries of God's universe. More that the astronomical wonders, I am more impressed in how it brought the two of you together.
Here is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite astronomers.
"Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who sets the planets in motion." [Isaac Newton]

It is so beautiful that your father was an amateur astronomer. He showed you the marvel of the sky and our solar system. You are right that the closer we get, more mysterious it becomes. Now there is a Tesla roadster is going around the Mars now. NASA's Perseverance rover is roaming around the Mars. Not sure how your father would think of it.
Well done.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your interesting perspective on the story. Yes my father was a big influence on me and his interest in science and technology peaked my curiosity to this day. I don't know what my father would think of going to Mars. Probably that it was a waste of money. estory

How wonderful you had a father who would teach you such things. I hardly knew my father, but I am very well acquainted with the Heavenly Father. The skies led me to Him. So wonders I never grow tired of. Sending you my best today and blessings always

I know from scripture that God named the stars in the sky, and called them by that, why, the only thing I can think...He can! But He uses them as a sign to man, that He created them.to reveal Himself..."Here I Am." To get our attention, to bridge that gigantic gap. Then came Jesus..., beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
