Hello Anon
Very good. A work of fiction (right?) which might resonant with some (and all those who can remember that far back).
It has a very - appropriate, with hindsight - disorientating feel to it: yet there is no obvious 'clue' that it is a dream until your ending 'surprises' both the reader and the story's subject, equally.
I enjoyed this.
I wish you well with your writing.

I hope he wasn't "leaning over her with a patisserie bag" about to put it over her head and murder her! I also hope he was as good at tidying up as he was at doing a pretend ransack. What a cruel trick... but I guess there were compensations!
Your story is very entertaining, a believable scenario, keeping the shock going.
At the end, perhaps you mean: Hey Bae [Babe], I got coffee and croissants.

Thanks for the review. It is all her dream until the last line.
Bae is the new way to say babe, go figure.
Things like the lipstick portrait and seeing her old friends are something I would dream about, haha.

This is a good entry for the 'Surprise me' writing prompt. You did a good job keeping the reader in suspense until th end, thinking the worst. Well done.
