I like the picture of a bedroom window,

The bedroom can bring back so much emotional memories. People can look in or out of the window. It allows the author to describe what happens externally and what is inside one's heart.

It is so sad to hear; "in the house I (ahem) pay for, I maintain, and occasionally would like to sleep in; let alone... enjoy."

An interesting poem but very enigmatic. Sounds like a negative environment where the person who owns the house does not have sway. The reader isn't sure the writer is the subject.
