And some will still miss your intention! LOL
Don't worry about it; you're making many people laugh and that's all that's important. Forget about getting those six stars; they don't glitter as much as you may imagine. And the contests you're not winning? Why would you want to belong to a club that would have you as a member? Four star ratings will simply increase your ambition to achieve!
Now on the other hand, I definitely deserve a win or two, but you know how it is with these rigged contests! LOL LOL LOL

I'm not so savvy on the receiving end of satire if I don't know the writer.
As always,I appreciate the entertainment and validation!

Oh you know that old Latin saying? "Illegitimi non carborundum" ???
Loosely translated as
"Don't let the bastards grind you down?"
Satirical or not, even when I go along with your tongue in cheek rants and "agree" that the system is "fixed" (or whatever)--I too am just saying that in a self soothing manner... sort of a denial pacifier for me...
BUT--there's always SOMEBODY who has got to take it literally and claim the moral high ground -- stating that what you said (satirically) is not true at all...
Which only means they each need an autographed copy of the definition of the word "satirical" ...
YOU be YOU...
Were you not number one writer?
Lots of fans get you...and WANT to enjoy your satirical rants!
(sigh......)
I've used up the only Latin I know besides Carpe Diem...
so SIEZE THE DAY, you fabulous writer you...
Ignore the naysayers, "splainers, et al.....

Hello Liz.
I remember a few satirical comments from you. I probably remember a lot of satirical comments from you. (I was not being satirical.)
Satire can often make bad news tolerable and good news intolerable. The problem with satire is that some people never get it. They take themselves too seriously, and they believe everything they think, do, or say is very important... Mine is very important. teehee

I read every word and take every damn thing you say cereal. Or is that serious? I got two fours this morning. But they weren't for my many misspelled or misused words or screwy punctuation. They were nitpicking and then they both ended with good story. They can kiss my good-story ass! Their freaking fours cost me two six-star reviews. LOL. Psych. I don't give a damn what they do. They can kill me, but they won't eat me. And if they do, I'm going to sour on their fat stomachs. HEE HEE

Hello Elizabeth,
I always enjoy reading your satirical pieces. However, I must admit to sometimes not knowing quite how to respond to them, without sounding like how a nodding dog must look!
Anyway, I enjoyed this one too. And I believe you're right - nobody reads the notes!
Keep that tongue of yours firmly in your cheek - it suits you!
Best wishes, Debra

We English do it all the time, but when I've tried on here, it truely did backfire. Lol. They are used to me now. It's the way we are, and people must learn to lighten up and enjoy these wonderful posts of yours. Well done, my friend, I do understand you, but if you need a shoulder to cry on, mine is huge. I know how hurt you must be sometimes!! Lol. Sorry, I wasn't really laughing, this is a serious matter!! LOL! Love all your posts. :)) Sandra xx

I admit that when I first started reading your posts, I was a little appalled by your remarks, and it took me a while to get some of them, so I can understand the response from newbies. But once I realized that it's satire, I love it.

The problem is that many people on this site who aren't, and wouldn't have any idea how to be, "sarcastic" or funny, truly believe that much of what you say in jest is actually true. I get you, but I've gotten some of the same things from others who dead serious.

For me, I know English humour, which very similar to Aussies, we have a self deprecating, ironic humour, tending not to take ourselves ourselves too seriously, whereas Americans tend to taking themselves seriously, hence your political upheaval, but you've broken the mould Liz, you've kicked against the goads as it were. You don't take up yourself seriously, hence the lack of understanding. Beautifully written, blessings Roy,

hey...well...we in Canada have a good saying, though rude so I won't spell it quite out...Sc**w 'em if they can't take a joke. People get so santimonious sometimes, and often take everything personally, even if not dire4cted at them.
Ha well..it's why stand up comedians exist...thank the stars...
