Hi Liz. I have been aboard Fanstory nearly twenty years (2004) and can swear to you, the contests on this site are NOT rigged. LOL To say so without any proof sounds too much like our EX-president, and king of the cry babies Donald J. trump. Now there is a real sore loser. LOL bob

I've won quite a few member sponsored contests and even POM contests, but never been placed in either a site contest or a reviewers contest, and I've been here since 2012, I don't enter contests anymore, my ego, (yes, I still have one) gets bruised, so I don't enter, fit of pique I guess, heh heh, well done though. I can tell you that on the Fan ArtReview site, many of my artworks were 'sprinkled with sparklers' as you put it. Max no of 7-stars, recognized status etc. But when the results were announced they didn't even find an honourable mention. These things happen in all fields I think. I stopped entering contests a long time ago, but entered my share early on. I think they have turned into more of a popularity contest, and those aren't sour grapes because I've won my share. Surprisingly. I just worry that contests can frustrate young writers when the same eight or ten often win. Thanks for sharing.
