Begin Again, the votes came in, and the right one won! This was a delightfully funny piece. You have a fine sense of humor and great timing and writing skill. I only wish I had a six to give you, but from the looks of things, you had ATB all sewed up anyway. Congratulations. Maybe you can use the hundred bucks toward a new garbage disposal.

Thanks, Jay - Appreciate the kind words and for you taking the time to read my entry. I was fortunate that our lives were filled with humor even when things were rough. Closed the business when my husband needed my care full time so thank heavens the garbage disposal went else where too. Smiles to you! Carol

The picture is funny. It captures the instant of the story. This is a humous story, full of action, laughter...

I can't imagine if it happened to my shop, I would not have laughed but get annoyed and angry.

Good writing.

If we hadn't laughed, we probably would have started yelling.. ..laughter was better. Thank you so much for reading and the review.

This story is a deserving winner of the contest. You set the scene so well, describing how you prepared for this gala and then came the unexpected tragedy. You describe this harrowing scene in such detail I COULD SEE your poor husband. You had me laughing, too, at its conclusion. Rod

Wow...THANK YOU.....THANK YOU....THANK YOU! Having anyone enjoy my writing is awesome, but winning with this one is more than I could have asked. A memory of my husband and having it be rewarded with the stars brought me to tears....happy and sad. I know he is watching, wanting me to write, so this one is in his honor. Thank you!

Eeww is right! You did a great job with your contest entry. I could see everything as I read. Your words flow smoothly and create great imagery. I liked the part about your husband looking like the Hulk. I happy that he had a sense of humor, fixed the problem, and both lived to tell of it another day. Your story has good progression of events and resolution. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

It's one of our favorite stories and my memories. Working together, we didn't always agree but we never went home without laughing about it. Thanks for reading and enjoying the story. I was just glad it was him and not me! "Bad wife" Smiles to you!

That was certainly an experience you'll not soon forget and neither will your grandkids if you ever tell them about it! Your story was well written and flowed very well. Thank you for sharing.

Oh yes - the entire family has heard this story many many times - especially around St. Patrick's Day. Unfortunately, Mike can't share in the laughter anymore, but he most definitely will be remembered. Thanks for the kind review.

Hilarious--except for the spewee in the midst of the spewing--brilliant rendering of the sundry green stuff featured in the story, appetizing and otherwise. This may be a winner!

Congrats on your win! Cheers. LIZ

This work has reached the exceptional level

Just so you know, the purpose of this review is to be helpful. I will point out any SPAG errors I see and rate according to site guidelines. SPAG means Spelling, Punctuation And Grammar. I may also comment on formatting issues. I will not give a five or six-star review unless I believe the work warrants it.

I reviewed this a minute ago and then the site crashed. Very humorous and definitely worth one of my rare six-star reviews.

I am honored to receive your review and thrilled that you enjoyed it. I'm blessed with his memories and glad that one of our moments of laughter made you smile as well. Maybe the site crash was a "sign" of him joining us or saying don't laugh too hard. LOL Smiles to you!

LOL! A very lively story. The pressure a company is under when they have
received recognition from the Big One (meaning a large company) is so heavy and to have something like that happen must have unglued you. The results, however, with your quick thinking husband and then your quick hands, turned into laughter and pleasantness. Well done!

Thanks, Raff. Actually, it was the best thing for our company. In the corporate business, word of mouth is key and it did wonders for us. As for the parsley fiasco, I will be forever grateful my husband had an awesome sense of humor. We laughed over and over about it, especially when St. Patrick's Day would roll around. Smiles to you!

Thank you so much for sharing this story. I laughed a lot, it almost sounds too good to be true. I am so happy that you and your husband were able to laugh over it. Very well written.

I was very fortunate that we laughed at everything. He said he loved my smile and my laugh. We had some great times to remember. Thanks so much Anne for your kind review.
