I read part 3 first so for me this is the back story so to speak. However, I'd like to add that I regularly subbed at my son's high school. That's what kept me going. Teenage boys would stop me in the hall to give me a hug. Girls would tuck notes filled with hearts and flowers into my hand. Seven other teachers, Two secretaries and a janitor had lost a child. They kept me sane. At least that was a blessing.

People would be amazed how many educators have lost kids of their own. One of the reasons I went back to work was to be around teen-agerrs. I just love them. Jan

Also:
I suggest you shorten the title somehow at the top so that the word "carreer cn be seen properly instead of it being "caree"

And then sometimes it's us kids that make the big impact on you teachers. As it seems your kids have done for you. I invited the one teacher, that actually helped me, to my baptism and wedding. I still keep in contact with her. She's a great person who has done more for us than she'll ever know. I'm sure they feel the same about you.

I am absolutely invested in this story, and am dreading the outcome. I can't imagine how difficult it is to write down. The only thing I noticed, as far as your writing goes, is the word "where" in your second paragraph should be "were". Honestly, if there are any other grammatical errors, I was too engrossed in the story to catch them. <3

Wow! Now, I am wondering what Troy has to do with all of this. I am sure you will tell us. This story just gets better and better. It's a wise teacher who understand how the kids come into a room dictates how much you get done.

So was Troy in that car that had the accident? Or just witnessed it? In either case, I wouldn't think he would have returned to the class afterwards. I am sure you'll tell the rest of the story next. Good idea to teach the class about not making assumptions or going on rumors.

I'm dreading the outcome of this story. If it involves death of young people it is every parents' nightmare. It is too hard for friends of the victims to comprehend they're never going to see them again. My sister died in a car accident on her way to school. She was 17 and in her senior year. The high school was directly across the street from our church where her funeral was being held. Just before it was to begin the entire high school seemed to pour out the doors and came across to the church. I remember comforting more young people that day. Maybe I'll be wrong that's my hope.

You are right, Jan. Your students needed you more than they needed math that day. Your recollection is tense and filled with suspense. I enjoyed reading it, although there's an uneasy feeling in what has happened that is set to change things in a big way. Thanks for sharing.
