What a beautiful tribute to a friend. Proves that people we have never touched physically can and do touch our emotions (our heart) and leave a forever mark upon us. Gorgeous! I am sure her husband will love all these tributes you have gathered together. Smiles

Thank you, Carol. And I know you're still grieving but you have the joy of knowing your daughter is with Jesus. Hugs!

This poem is quite wonderful, Helen. Such a lovely tribute to Joan. One of the best I've seen. The book was a grand initiative and will, I feel sure, bring comfort to Bob.

Thank you so much, Tony. If it weren't for Joan, I wouldn't have known about what you shared about her. Bless you!

This is a first class tribute to Joan. Beautifully written without any false 'gush'. I loved the Gallic ending and to my pleasure I found I could translate it without reference to the not, which I discovered later. Earlier in the week this would have had a six but it is Friday and they are all gone.

Thank you so much, Jim! I'm honored that you thought it six-worthy. So glad you got the "Gallic" too. She taught French so I thought it natural to end it that way.
Blessings!

The last stanza opens the door to eternity, and leaves a trail of sadness but also joy:"I believe
no matter your doubts about the Beyond
from Earth's murky view
that you have found that
ce n'est pas la fin, ma chère amie,
ce n'est que le début
(it's not the end, my dear friend, it's just the beginning)" Thank you for sharing and may her Soul find the peace and joy of God's blessing.

Thank you, Iza! Of course, you didn't need the translation for the French! I thought I'd end in French since Joan used to teach French.
Hugs!

How beautiful! She must have been an amazing and exceptional person for a book of tributes to be made for her. Yes she has taken the first steps into eternity - how wonderful for her. Safely home. Lovely and thoughtful writing.

Magnificent! A stellar addition to the book of Joan--surely her husband will be thrilled. As regards Joan's doubts about the afterlife, if she is correct she won't have the satisfaction of saying TOLD YOU SO!

What a good way to remember her, our friend at FanStory by giving her husband a book of poetry to remember her. I might have reviewed her work once.
Not sure I will write a poem. But please send my condolences to her husband and family.
Well done.

Of course. You were so new to the site, you probably didn't get to know her. I only knew her the last few years. She was quite private but a real treasure. Thanks, Lisa! Hugs!
