I am a football fan and enjoyed your poem. It really covered what the game had to offer. I am glad you have someone to watch it with. I watch football alone. No one in the family likes it but me so I grab my chips and cheer. Great job and good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Annie, for your excellent review, your encouraging comments and the five stars. It means a lot to me that a football fan liked my poem! I was a little uncertain about posting a poem about football, but I'm so happy that it's doing well. I haven't written any poem about sports since 1969, when I was eleven years old and the New York Mets won the World Series. I was one excited young girl. While I wasn't there personally, I lived about a 40-minute subway ride away from what was then Shea Stadium. Now, I live even closer to Citifields, but have never been there. God bless you, and thank you so much!

Togetherness, isn't it great? I'm not a fan of football either and luckily my husband and older son watch together, but I'll throw in a comment or two. I sound like a complete idiot of course but it's fun. Kudos to you for making your husband happy. Thanks for sharing. :)

Thank you so much for the great review. Yes, togetherness is a wonderful thing, a tremendous blessing. (I would probably sound like an idiot too, if there was another guy around, but fortunately, he doesn't mind explaining the simplest football facts to me.) This game was fairly straightforward, because the Buccaneers were so far ahead, and the Chiefs kept incurring penalties, the obvious result of bad behavior. The Buccaneers got a penalty too, I think it was for taunting the Chiefs. It was rather incomprehensible to me as to why grown men would behave that way, but I guess we see the same thing in politics, too. At least with sports, it's all for fun. I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. God bless you and your family, also.

What a well-written rhyming poem. The words flow freely. We have no clue about this game in India. But the poem speaks clearly, and simply and describes the game well. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Dolly, for your excellent and lovely review. Yes, the Super Bowl is definitely huge in America, rivaling the World Series in baseball. Several years back, I made a point of learning a little bit about the game (for Jorge's sake) and some football terminology. I didn't retain it all, but if I have a question, I just ask him! The Super Bowl is really the only football game that I watch with him, because otherwise I really don't have much interest in it. In recent years, the commercials have come to attract a lot of attention; they pay big bucks and sometimes air later on, as entertainment in their own right, believe it or not. There have been some good half-time shows, but I never heard of the performers for this one, and to me, honestly it seemed like a lot of noise, lights and smoke. But as we prefer Christian music, we're not easily entertained by pop culture. It was a good time for the pizza delivery, which took extra long to arrive, since more people than usual were probably ordering. It's great to get so many nice reviews here, for this poem :-) God bless you, my friend. Stay safe and well. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Aww this is a really sweet poem showcasing your husband's love for American football! Really nice touch to add: as he soaked in all he wanted to watch.
Gives it a feel that he fully emersed himself in it

Thank you, Hannah, for your sweet, lovely and excellent review. Yes, my husband really soaked it all in! He was completely in his element all evening, as we watched the game, and he was especially happy that I was watching it with him. He is truly a sports fanatic, generally speaking. I like to say that "he never met a sport he didn't like," but he's especially wild about the big ones, like American football, soccer and baseball. He also enjoys basketball and the Olympics, when they're on. He collects all kinds of paraphernalia -- the hats, tee shirts, sweatshirts, and I don't even know where to find all those items in our jumbled up apartment. I joke with him, that he's a walking advertisement. Anywhere we go, he can bond with other males over sports, instantly getting into in-depth conversations about the latest sports news, about which I generally don't have a clue. But it makes him happy and is harmless. He still makes time for God and for me, so I have nothing to complain about. I'm very blessed! May God bless you, too.

Excellent poem! It describes very well how the super bowl was played.

I watched it too. It was great. I enjoyed the full 2 hours, especially I am a Tampa Bay fan.

Thank you for sharing.
