No, we are stuck with a pommie anthem called Advance Australia Fair. It is dreadful, one line says "girt by sea." I think it goes way back to Queen Victoria. I would like "Great Southern Land' wonderful lyrics and the words are apt. Blessings, Kay xx

I remember one or two of your earlier poems you wrote about Banjo, Aussie. I enjoyed this one. I like the historical significance included, the good rhyme, the touches of alliteration, the great imagery of this man you created, and the great picture.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Again, I like this one Aussie.

Really good... great writing the last two I have read. I don't usually review twice in the same week, but I liked this a lot.
You are writing well.
My very best wishes.
Have a great day.

This is a fascinating poem about a wonderful man. I have heard the song "Waltzing Matilda" but didn't know who wrote it. Your words take the reader to another place and time and I am sure this man brought much joy to the soldiers.

This was great, Kace good luck in the poetry contest. I liked how Patterson created such whimsical poem for the drovers he met. I can only imagine the role he played. Nice rhyme.

What a hero this man was. Not only is your poem beautifully constructed but you choose to honor a human who gave hope to many in great need. Music is a healer and the banjo is an instrument which so lifts our spirits. Lovely work.
