Very good. A nice tribute to one of the most influential musicians of the last century. I grew up with the Beatles but was more of a Rolling Stones fan, Great job, good luck in the contest.

You have done an excellent job with describing John Lennon's life - and death. It was clever of you to use 'instrumental' to put both meanings of the word. I loved the Beatles and John Lennon's philosophy on life - Give peace a chance; Imagine etc. His early death was tragic. He should've stayed living in England.

The poem feels intentionally cut short, much like the singer's life. I also like the use of the phrase "instrumental to success". This is a great nod to the art of the subject, himself. Hello anon, a well written 5/7/5 which tells a story. The tragic death of John by a gunman's hand shocked the music world. His death was a great loss to the world of music. He became a political threat in US as he was a popular person who aired his views without fear. A sad loss. Good Luck on this good 5/7/5. Warm regards Dorothy x

This was such a tragic incident and it broke my heart when I heard the news. John had always feared someone would shoot him one day. Your words pay tribute to a talented man who brought us great music and only ever wanted to live in peace. He is still missed. Poignant words here, love Dolly x
