What a beautiful child pictured here. Yes, time wipes innocence away but it is in our power to teach hope, strength, and free will for a child to grow up complete. Well done.
Blessings,

You're killin' me. I'm the unemotional type but still human. I instantly recalled a memory of this event of innocent eyes looking up at me. Nothing melts a heart faster. This contest has three good submissions. I'm casting my vote for your entry.

This poem is really well written and shows respect for children; love the image of the little girl. Innocence does show in the eyes of children that we love. When they are born, they are innocent.

I don't think even four years ago did I know what human trafficking is. Then a shelter, Lynhaven Retreat in Hammond, La. opened four miles from me. It is a home for women from several nations who were sold as slaves, often as a child. Life changed for me -- I am not an activist against this evil.

Beautiful picture and great words to describe. When we look into the eyes of a child, we see innocence and trust. How easily those things are destroyed if we are not careful.

Such a cute picture! And your poem is perfect. The trust a child places in an adult is all-encompassing when they are young, and God will deal with anyone who endangers that beautiful trust.
Thank you for sharing,
Susan
