The choice of the picture is good. The man may not know where he is heading ... for good or bad.
It is a poem of dark age. It is sad to read the beginning of the poem: "To buy flowers for a funeral..."Flowers are for sad events and they can be for happy events. It is like life has ups and downs.

I really liked your phrase of "sunshine on a stem" for flowers. I wonder if the flowers were actually purchased and if the restaurant belonged to the now deceased second cousin twice removed.

Interesting entry for the Use These Words writing prompt contest.
Nice concept but the syntax is odd.
For example...
To buy flowers for a funeral
I can confess 'twas my intent,
My second cousin twice removed
met face-to-face with wet cement
Suggestion...

I like the story...sounds like a nightmare but in a good way...I love horror movies.

First, love the colors and how you use that to highlight the prompt words. The rhyme scheme also is nice in keeping the piece melodic and helps with readability.
OMG yea this was pleasant to read. A sad subject with some humor. It evokes a certain feeling I can't really describe. It's relatable for sure!
I see that you do use some punctuation, so my one recommendation would be to add some in certain places (I think the only one I see where it helps with reading is in the 2nd line between confess and 'twas). There could be other places for that, but otherwise its good!
