So true Mystery Writer... I long for the simplicity as well. This is a well written verse and an excellent response to the cartoon prompt. I remember those vibrant cartoons and think you chose a good one to act as your theme/enhancement!! Well done and good luck!!

Good morning, Melissa in beautiful Virginia! You and I share a love of those old and FUNNY cartoons. When my grand-kids visit, they watch so much of un-funny shows with canned laughter. I tell them, "that laughter is not from real people, it is recorded. So, never wonder why you are not laughing." Anyway, thanks for visiting my place and your nice review. Beep Beep!

Well this is my second of the Wiley E Coyote poems. Your quatrains are fluid, the narrative flows very well and you employ a fair balance of internal and end rhymes. Overall this is a commendable effort, good luck in the booth.

Wow! Yours is a pretty deep technical assessment and approval of my poetic attempt. I just plain enjoyed writing this one more than usual. I got so "in the mood", I even looked up some old cartoons on the web. That coyote ain't caught him yet! Great fun. Thanks for stopping by!

This piece is an excellent entry for the Cartoon Time contest. It features two well known characters, and comments on their states of mind. The rhymes are engaging and the picture is a nice touch.

These cartoons were around when I was a kid in the 1950s along with Tom and Jerry and others similar. Was it Looney Tunes that was the name of the publisher and someone called Fred Quimby's name would flash up on the screen and we kids would shout in unison 'Good old Fred!'
Those days won't come again in the same way as I will never be ten again. A great fun trip down memory lane. Thank you.

You and I share an enthusiasm for those Road Runner & Coyote cartoons. Looney Tunes is right, created by Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese - I would not have known that except for even looking up some old cartoons on the web I was so "in the mood".
Thanks for stopping by for a run down the desert road with me. It was great fun to write.

I really enjoyed this and it brought back a lot of memories. You have done a great job of saying both, "Never surrender," and "Never quit," whichever role you may be playing at any given minute. Small thing: I don't think the possessive is correct after Acme Inc.--perhaps a colon?

Thanks for your thoughtful review and for running down memory lane with Road Runner and me! I recognize the anvils and rockets and such as Acme Inc.s products. Like GM's cars and trucks or Tyson's chicken or Bud's beers...

Very nice comparison and indeed:"
I believe there's a Heaven where
Past battles are soon forgot
Where Road Runner and Coyote
Toast, "We were stars, were we not?!" Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Whew! Thanks for your nice review! I was wondering if I would get any review at all - had 11 views over 12 hours and not one review. So, you are my new best friend. Thanks!
