I don't think you need the periods, as these aren't really sentences.
Well done. If not for allergies, spring would be perfect.

Allergies! I hate what they do to my daughter, although it's not just flowers....pet dander makes her weep. Nevertheless, I love flowers, they always make me happy. Best of luck in the contest. :)
