I've been away for quite awhile. It seems like Everytime I'm away for a period of time, I return to sad news...could you enlighten me about Joan... What name did she use as her moniker?

    She was Joan E on the site but I think her account has disappeared. I never knew she was ill, and it was only by accident that i found out. She was a very private person as I now understand. Thanks a lot for the six stars. Ulla:)))

I didn't know she had passed until I read a poem about it. Very sad, seems we have lost a number of members lately. I gave contact info to Robyn in case I disappear on day, she can contact me sister. A very nice tribute to Joan.

    Thank you so much, Roxanna. Yes, it is sad about, Joan. I didn't even know she was ill. I also discovered it by pure accident. Ulla:)))

I feel like the start of year is always the hardest on this site and gets the most people. Another amazing writer taken from us. Thankfully, she lives on through the many lives she's touched in her life.

Thank you, Ulla, for your contribution to this book. I'm so glad that you knew Joan. She was very private so she didn't want to draw attention to her cancer battle. We shared communication because my husband was going through cancer treatment at the same time so she let me know but I stopped hearing from her in December.

    She was a lovely person. I'm so sorry I never knew she was ill. I wished I'd known. Ulla:)))

TFawkus had a great tribute to her as well. Condolences to her family, friends, and we will remember her writing here on Fanstory. Her writings will live on. estory

Your tribute to Joan. It is warm and heartfelt. It's sad losing a friend and peer. Im sure your words will comfort those on Fanstory, and her loved-ones as well.

Joan was such a skilled artist and poet, and I did so very much enjoy not only her post-card haiku, but also her sensitive reviews.

I too share in passing my most heartfelt condolences to her family and dear ones.

Excellent write, Ulla from a most kind woman.

I loved her writing.

Hello, Ulla,

I got close to Joan. I knew she had cancer and I prayed for her but I thought she was going to get better. I am saddened by her death. She was a sweet kind lady and beautiful artist. Well done, the book is going to be great when it's done, Helen will send it to her husband, Bob.
