I probally have a hundered or more of my own. I sometimes wonder if there are this many forgotten keys, then there must be just as many lost and unopend locks?

Yes, I am sure there are. This was a fun write and the positive reviews inspired a sequel, "The Lock".

I just love old keys, especially
skeleton keys.
It's wonderful to daydream about
the doors, diaries and dreams they
might unlock.
Love your poem,
blessings...

Thank you so much for your kind review. I, too, love old keys and fantasize as to what they might open. It nice to be back and see your beautiful name again. Hope you are doing well.

Stellar. My six stars are depleted. We all have keys and dare not throw them out. What do they open? Grandpa's secret door in his old oak desk? An old deed box, behind a board in the attic, hidden by a miser? I once started a short story about a man with a million keys, but never took it anywhere. I've thought of creating some kind of sculpture with all those wonderful pieces of sawtoothed metal that I just can't put in the trash. I absolutely loved this piece.

Wow, thank you so much for these inspiring, encouraging, and complimentary words. I am delighted that you loved this short piece about something we probably all have stored somewhere. Thank you again, I feel flattered.

It wasn't flattery. You wrote beautifully. Some here definitely don't get high praise in my reviews. But how else does one learn? Flattery only encourages people to believe things that aren't true.

It is nice to know that you write sincere review and I will remember that when I want an honest opinion. So, again I thank you for the wonderful review.

I enjoyed reading and reviewing your fun poem, Brigitte. I like the title 'Master of the Keys' you gave yourself. Your picture choice is great--looks like an antique key to what--who knows. Your words are descriptive--I could see everything you wrote. I don't have a box of keys, but a key rack full. Amazingly, most of them still open locks that are being used.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you Roy for these encouraging words. I appreciate the time you took to read and comment on. Ordinary objects can often be an inspiration. Send your keys to add to my box, lol.
