I found this poem to be a well written, mysterious poem. As a fiction writer, it sent my mind in all sorts of directions. I love when poetry causes the reader to think, as the imagery in this piece does. As "Master of the Keys," I hope you enjoy your journey and find answers.

Brigitte,
Life would be much easier if we had keys to open the boxes with all the answers to our questions. It seems like it would be a hard job to figure out where they all fit.
Nicely done free verse poem using keys and locks as metaphors to getting through life's troubles.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Joan

Nice job focusing on that image of the keys, and we get taken into all kinds of places, all kinds of locked rooms and boxes, through that image. Keys are the rights of passage into all these mysterious places of valuables and sacred places. I also liked the use of the repetition of 'key's to create a sense of rhythm and music in the piece. estory

This is a very original poem about keys. I really enjoyed reading it. We do seem to hang on to keys for no apparent reason as we will never find a lock that they fit. Nice one.
Take care. Jen

My quest as Master of the Keys
Unlock with keys the hidden trinkets, dark places
Time consuming search for locks begins
That is my task as Master of the Keys.
A very interesting concept you have portrayed in your excellent poem. As writers, we find the keys that unlock the thoughts flowing through our minds, so that we can open mysteries to others. That's the message I get from your verse.

Hello BRIGITTE ELKO,
What's a cool poem on Keys? I currently have 9 keys on a key holder. My husband or I have tried to figure out what those keys go too. I am the master of those keys however, I don't have any idea where they go. ha ha. Like your poem, locating a home for the keys have been time consuming. This is a nicely written poem about Keys. I enjoyed this read, and it was a very entertaining. Well done.

Isn't it weird what we keep? Your title made me smile. My maiden name is Mannakee, and my brother researched our ancestry to see how we came about it. Apparantly it came from a worker at a monestry, he checked the gates and doors were all locked and was called the, Man of Keys. Clever isn't it. So, did you ever find a home for any of the keys? Well done, I enjoyed your poem. :)) Sandra

It is no nice to see your name again after my long absence. To post and have it received with such enthusiasm has encouraged me to keep on writing. There is a sequel, "The Lock" inspired by positive comments. Thank you for reading. I have not matched any keys and locks but will keep trying. I love the name "Mannakee" and your comments on ancestry research made me think and smile.

Interesting topic for your poem! Keys are mysterious objects until we know what they open. In our own imagination, that could be a treasure or a Pandora's box of trouble. That is implied in the words of your poem.
Thank you for sharing!
Susan
