Oh dear Lord, I had no idea! Joan was one of my favourite poets a couple of years ago when I was a regular. I enjoyed following her in her travels. She had a unique way of recording her personal experiences. Thanks Tony, for writing this fine tribute. Giddy

This gave me goose bumps, dear Tony. Touching, masterfully crafted and I LOVE how you included the title of our book as well. RIP.
Great form with flow and rhyming. Favorite lines:
into the realms of golden thought
where all must go at last;
Love the slant rhyme of unsurpassed too!
Great medley of P sounds woven through the whole poem.
Joan will love this, reading from the skies...
Bravo.

Thanks so much for your response to my poem, RD. I only knew Joan through her poetry and her supportive reviews. It seems that she was a lovely lady. I haven't read Pieces of Her Mind, though I have read a little about it. However, I do have a copy of the more recent volume, Under the Gingho Tree, edited by Ray. Some lovely poems in it, which I dip into occasionally.
I appreciate your very kind words, detailed review and sixth star.

Thank you for sharing this tribute to Joan with us. Her poetry touched so many lives. I knew she was in a coma but hadn't heard she passed. I am praying for her, her family and friends. Thank you for sharing.

This is so great, Tony, to have this skillfully written poem reminding everyone of Joan and her participation in this book endeavor. Sympathize to the one who passed away as said in the poem: "It is with sorrow that I hear another friend has passed..."
I also like the following: "a poet who is well defined by poems, I was glad to find endure in Pieces of Her Mind, a volume unsurpassed."
