A very clever poem that lives up to its title! I really like the lilting meter you used and the way you wove your animals into the poem. It is very well done! I can understand your preference for animals. I am getting a little sick of all the adjectives being used to describe me, too!
Thank you for sharing.
Susan

A very well-written heartfelt poem. Of all the species on earth the human species are the strangest and most hateful although they are the most intelligent they sometimes behave worse than unreasonable animals.

This made me smile and there is much moaning going on right now in the world as no one seems to be happy! Your poem has a great melody with some well chosen words and rhymes, a joy to read, love Dolly x

There's certainly a lot of noise. Thanks for the very kind comments, Dolly. Cheers, Craig

You are still the opinionated Craig that we at FanStory have come to know and love. But now you get your point across by poking fun at yourself. I'm enjoying this new approach. I read this one out loud and your rhythm is spot on. I particularly like your opening line and all your adjectives. And, I can't believe that you managed that rhyme pattern. That's a lot of rhymes.
The whole things flows, and it is so original.
Best of luck in the contest. Surely it will be on the leaderboard.

Me, opinionated? Whatever do you mean? lol

I'm quite certain it won't get anywhere near the leader board, but I had fun. You can't believe how much difficulty I've had composing anything at all these past months. It's like I'd said everything I wanted to say and there was nowhere to go. I'd sit down to force myself to write something, and my mind would say, "Nope, got nothing."

Anyway, it's no masterpiece, but at least something came out. Thanks for the very kind words and the good wishes, Debbie.

    Cheers,
    Craig

Your mind is probably just tired of this world. Surely, things will improve somewhat. If not, I guess we will have to get used to it.
I still want to hear about that radio show.

The radio play is called "Holy Cowra". The plot is that God decides she's got to pay us Earthlings another visit, but to everyone's surprise, she turns up on a sheep property about 40 miles from where I live. She has a few conversations with locals in a nearby pub, where she drinks chardonnay, of course, not beer. And she leaves a present... surprisingly, it's a book.

It's been commissioned by a neighbouring Council's Civic Centre, but I'm a little concerned. I was supposed to get a contract within a couple of weeks of being given the go-ahead. That was two months ago. Then again, they've been late getting around to every step lol

I love the plot. That should be a piece of cake for you. Bradbury would be proud. I'm surprised that it's a radio play though. I didn't know that there was such a demand for that format. I looked it up to see what I was missing.
Apparently, it fits right in with the surging interest in nostalgia.

Good for you! Sounds like a safe and sane thing for you to do. Seems like our muses have been singing the same song to us - to you about adjectives and me about labels.
As for those doomsday prophets, I hope they'll clam up now as QAnon predicted the end of the world if Biden were elected and it seems he's doing just fine. We're so thankful for the peace and quiet. And that the biggest news is what Bernie Sanders wore.
My favorite line was: "and recognise reality is not all white and black."
Best wishes in the contest!

Isn't it eerily quiet this past week or so? I'm quite enjoying it, and looking forward to when the lack of a constant bombardment of nonsense feels normal again.

    Thanks, Helen.
