If only I had returned sooner. I could have encouraged her as we battled together for a cure. To cancer, I am no stranger. Now the winds are moist with my shed tears. My data bank will be there for 50 years to search for a cure for those who will yet battle.

Dedication to JoanE
A chapter in the book Tribute to JoanE
Written on the wind...
I just reading the poem that she wrote
brought tears to my eyes. I recall reading her poem which is beautiful especially--
Life's journey can be bright and full
though tinged with trials none can cull.
I'll miss your presence on this site.
we'll meet perhaps in God's sweet light.
I will be praying for Joan with knowing that she's on morphine and waiting for Jesus opens His loving arms to bring to her resting place and fine peace.

Oh NO! I am so terribly sorry to hear our gentle friend is ill. I will pray for her, and for her loved ones, of course!
Your exquisite poem has brought me to tears, Roy. I am so glad I didn't miss it. As you may have noticed, I haven't been here a lot lately...

Thank you for sharing this with us. It's an excellent poem and I paused and prayed immediately and will continue to pray. God answers prayers and I see evidence of it every day.

Roy, your poem is beautiful. You have said it so well, for all of us, how much Joan meant to us who were blessed to interact with her here. She was always so kind, helpful, informative, a wonderful friend in every way. This poem expresses that eloquently. I am sorry I have no more sixes or I would have used one on this lovely poem.

I feel for JoanE and her family as both my parents died of cancer. I know the physical and emotional pain. It is always sad when a poet passes from this sight.
You include your faith with the well written sonnet tribute. Of course we will all meet again and maybe have a giant meeting of minds in heaven.
I always though it would be good to meet everyone on a cruise. But that is not a good idea now.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Not sure I ever came across her works though I am young and not frequent here. Her works will surely live on, and all the beautiful tributes of her acquaintances depict a woman of immeasurable courage. Yours was masterly penned with faith of an everlasting life of joy. Well done!

Hi Roy,
This is a nice tribute to our friend and fellow writer, Joan E.
I wasn't aware that she had been living with cancer.
I made the mistake of saying that "someone" was dying of cancer, once. I was quickly scolded. What I should have said is that "someone" was living with cancer.
God is in control. Our ways are not His ways. Time means nothing to Him. But He hears our prayers. And He still performs miracles every single day.
Thanks for sharing.
We'll be praying for Joan.
Blessings,
Kimbob

I wasn't familiar with JoanE's work, but I understand she wrote some lovely poetry. Though one may depart, memories remain, and her writings will remain. She had a full life, even though she surely had her measure of pain. I'm glad you end on a cheerful note about joy never-ending. judi

Bro. Roy,
What a sweet poem about a sweet lady, I'm sure. I just sent a prayer up to the Throne of Grace and Power to HIM who is the comforter
and healer of all who are down cast and sick.
Psa.120:1 In my distress I cried unto the Lord,
and He heard me."
