Great entry for the Why I write? contest. Some of the syntax is odd at times but overall it's very nice. I love Stephen King too. Good luck in the contest.

You make some good points here, particularly about immersing yourself in literature 24/7. When I was younger I had to spend my weeks earning a living and only really took up writing seriously when I retired. Now I can do the 24/7 thing too.

I like how you start your essay with "The reason why I write is to entertain the readers and for them to have something to look forward to being pleased." This shows a sharing spirit while thinking about others' enjoyment - a nice attitude to have.

Very well written description as to why you write. I'm sure many on this site share your feelings of passion for it. I do it more as a hobby, but I do love it. I have published several Children's story books. They don't sell very well, but those who have them seem to like them and fan mail from children is the best. =] I wish you great success, you never know when you will be an overnight sensation. Keep at it! Hope you do well in the contest.

On a side note, you mention Stephen King... Have you tackled his book "It" ? I tried to read it last summer and I only got 200 pages in. He introduced so many characters in the beginning, I couldn't keep them straight. Wondering if it gets less confusing as it goes on or not...
