I have just rejoined after quite an absence, but I still remember Joan E's lovely comments. People with her personality will always be missed in various spheres of our lives.
Your tribute to her is equally lovely with a sad and gentle touch.

Warmly,

Juliette

Hi Juliette! Welcome back! Thank you for finding this tribute book to JoanE! I miss her and I keep thinking I should send a note to check on her husband. But I hope he and their son are doing well. I am so glad you got to know her. Blessings!

Helen,

I just discovered that JoanE passed away after reading Amada's poem.

I am disheartened because we (JoanE and me) just recently became fans of each other work. I cherish my brief relationship with her.

Your prologue did her justice. Thank you for it.

Oh, I'm sorry that you just found out. She went through chemo from August and we kept in touch until December. I think she was feeling too awful after that. Sigh. I hope you will add to the book, Nan. Thanks for reviewing this prologue. Hugs!

What a lovely tribute. I am fairly new to this site, but am starting to make some connections and friendships with strangers in the way you describe. I can see how Joan's presence is missed.
Thank you for sharing.

This is a beautiful tribute to a fellow writer who shared so much with the FanStory community. I would have loved to read her work which has unfortunately been taken down. I pray for peace for her family and friends, an blessings for you for your commitment to keeping her memory alive.

Thank you for writing this and for giving us the opportunity to write something for Joan. I knew nothing about her battle with cancer. I just noticed that she was not here much lately and I missed her. What you wrote is so beautiful and sweet, describing so clearly the lovely and talented person she was. It is just right.

I miss her, too! Thank you so much, Adonna. Sorry to share this sad news but I'm comforted that she had friends like you. I was wondering if most of her close friends here had already left. Appreciate the generous rating, too. Hugs!

Helen, you have written a beautiful tribute to this lovely lady. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing her on FanStory, but I send my sincere and deep condolences to her family members and her friends. May she rest in peace with God, and may the Lord comfort them in their time of loss. I'm sorry you lost her, too. Thank you for posting this, with a beautiful sample of her art.

Thank you, Mary Kay! I thought everyone knew her because she promoted so high. But now I realize what a rare privilege it was that she shared some of her private life with me. Hugs!

Oh, I do like the editorial style of this one and the way it encompasses so much of her that many did not have the chance to know... every one deserves an identity, Helen, and you've done a wonderful job of giving her one for all to know!! ;) :) Thanx for sharing and for starting the book... she will definitely be missed. ;) :) Yvette

Wow, I did not know that she
passed away Monday.
A friend of mine died Monday
from liver/kidney failure.

I loved her 5-7-5's.
I loved learning about all
the places she traveled to...
poetry postcards.
She will be missed.
Blessings...

How sad. It sounds like joanE had quite a struggle with liver cancer before she passed away. You pay tribute to her as a poet, with her tanka, haiku, and travel poems. Her work at the Getty Museum must have been a great pleasure for her. You do a lovely job of describing the many ways in which she will be missed. judi

Thank you, Judi. Her husband sent an email with his own eulogy and I was surprised I knew everything he wrote because of Joan's writings. I only got to know her in the last two years or so. We get to know each other quite a bit through our writings. Hugs!

You're welcome. This was a writer I didn't know that much about, but you brought her to life with your comments. judi
