Dear Jay, even as I write this review, the new president has taken moves to bring this country to its knees, So overwhelmed will we be by all his decrees that All of us will more than worry.

You are always so inspirational and this piece is no different. The times we live in are a changimg. There is certainly trouble on the front and if we do not pull together who knows where we will end up.

Freedom must be guarded as much from those who would try to take it away by force or deception. God gave us the ability to reason on truth so that we could separate it from folly. If we fail to do tat we then lose all hope and whatever claim of freedom we might have had.

It is a sad and scary time. Your poem highlights it well. Our flag has been so mistreated by so many. Where has love of country and patriotism gone? Your lines flow well with good rhymes and great imagery and message. The USA is in dire straits.
Respectfully, Jan

I believe January 6th struck terror in many American, rattling the cobwebs and remembering freedom is too precious to forget and take it's value for granted. We must stand as one until we are all considered equal. I love your poem and what it stands for. Smiles to you!

Beautifully said, Jaybird! I think with the hurried communication via the internet and the stress of the pandemic, people have become rude and divisive. But if we give God thanks for all we do have and care about our neighbors, our country can keep its freedoms.

Hello Jay!
Your sentiments resonate with me deeply.
I, too, fear "How long can we, this freedom keep?"
Please note:
Can speak and practice their desires,
free from the wraight (wrath? or weight?) of vengeful liars.
Thank you for sharing!

I agree wholeheartedly. You write of what a wonderful country we HAVE BEEN LIVING IN. Notice the tense I used. I fear in the future it will HAD BEEN living in. This is very well expressed without placing blame or being political. Very good perspective.

A very well-written thought-provoking poem about the future that seems to be unknown and scary when we look around and see his quickly things change into things we can't understand.
