A very well-written poem about a daughter you raised up and now have to find her own path with the man of her choice and you have to let go to see her happy and brightens her future path.

What a beautiful speech this would be for a father to give to his daughter's new husband at their wedding! I like the line "the torch passes and walks without me" - so eloquent!
Thank you for sharing.

-Nice photo and
presentation, Doug.
-It's hard to know what
to say because it is
a happy, but also emotional
time, as many are when
raising children.
-You wrote a lovely poem
for her as she will begin
a new path in life.
-Your love and pride
come through in the poem, too.
-Well done.

It shows, eh?
Then that is good.
Thank you.

You are very welcome, and I am glad you were pleased with the review. Is she your only child? I have an only son, also an adult.
-
Yes, my only child.

I thought that was the case:)

Aaah! Heartbreaking, I am sure. I don't think, as a mother, that I felt the
same emotions as you when my sons married. Somehow giving up a daughter is so much more wrenching. What a sweetheart!

She a cutie. This would be a good speech to use as you give your daughter to another man. On the other hand, she will always be your daughter and though she is not longer with you, you will live in her heart for as long as she breaths. We never forget our fathers.

A cute picture, and a sweet poem, showing how much a father loves his little girl, watches her grow and then releases her into the care of another. Brings back memories of my husband and how much his daughter meant to him. The husband she chose has been very good to her.
