Well heck DRAGONSKULLS, I could have put your contest submission alone in first place. I didn't see this until now or I would have voted for your entry. Good golly, I don't how many times I've sat down to read poems and uttered "ugh" then went on to the next one because of the sheer boringness of the poem.

Thank you for the great review, Paul. Oh yes, I've muttered ugh more times than I can count. Lol. I really appreciate the stars and support, friend. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. Have a good one.

This two-hundred-fifty-word short story, An Earth in Peril, has the required word count and, I guess it is implying that some writing you've read is not blowing your skirt up.

Lol. Yep, some of it lacks the wind it needs at times. Thank you for the great review and stars, Bill.

Very clever and simply entertaining. You took the reader to an unfamiliar place and then quite craftily brought her back home, understanding it all. What a pleasure. Smiles to you!

This had a neat twist at the end, I was expecting something about the Coronavirus. This could have been a short story in the future contest entry as well Very nice job. Good luck in the contest.

Hilarious. I loved the way you developed this along the way, giving the impression that the world might be coming to and end, even up to the last sentence.
But your ending is classic. I loved it. Global boring? That was really great.
Keep up the great work.

This is an interesting approach to a subject dear to the heart of everyone here. We are repeatedly told writers must read more. But how do you pick your source? About half my reading comes from site submissions where I find tremendous variation in the quality of the writing. Published books are no better. I am constantly writing comments on the flyleaf like incoherence in X, Y unsubstantiated (I write these comments as I can't bring myself to bin the books despite their imperfections).

I love the twist at the end! Very well written, building up to the climax as you did. The writing was clear, and flowed well throughout. Thanks for sharing Good wishes for your contest.

DS,
Well. Finally. I was starting to wonder if you were ever gonna get to the actual point of the matter. hahahaha You definitely saved it to the very end. And I agree -- though I would prefer that the President and his cabinet and advisors would shut down all social media, maybe. Sometimes I think that those sources do more damage than everything else in the world combined.
This was well written and entertaining. Thanks!

Lol. Yeah, I had to drag it out to get to the 250 word limit before I could actually get the silly punch line in there. Yes, social media definitely does more damage than help sometimes. I really appreciate the generous stars and great review, Robyn. Thank you.

OK this is priceless. I never saw that coming. I thought it would be something scientific like a meteor hitting the earth and that would be the end. I had a good laugh at the ending. We would have to be meeting and writing in underground bunkers. LOL Good luck with the contest!

Wickedly clever. Didn't see that coming. Sly of you not to classify this as humor to tip us off as to the twist.

here forth=>HENCEFORTH

Thank you for the great review and for pointing out the goofs, Elizabeth. Yeah, I didn't want to give it up that I was going to end it so ridiculously. Lol. I appreciate the stars and help, E. Thanks again.
