I like your metaphorical imagery. The reader will be drawn in by the sensory images. You appeal to several senses. I could hear a bit of a southern drawl as I read this poem aloud. It sound like an envious Southern night. In contrast to our sub-zero northern nights.

A truly lovely presentation. The stars are our diamonds in the sky and wonderful to see. When we wish upon a star is such a poignant song with meaningful words. I like to think that wishing on a star is really praying.

Marvellous poem!! Three lines that address readers to their internal "wishes upon a star". I really feel touched with the music you added to your poem, which gives another dimension to your three lines! Great combination that is completed with a great choice of a descriptive artwork! Diamond studded velvet. What a beautiful metaphor and what a beautiful image. Your poem flows very smoothly and I think should do very well in the contest. I will never look at the night sky in the same way again. I love the picture.
