With tears in my eyes I'm reading your poem. It touched my heart so deeply. I especially identified with the line, "The day the angels embraced you, I was not home." That was my experience. You expressed a tribute to your mother so tenderly and lovingly. I wish you the best in the contest.

    Thank you, Lorraine. Problems with my truck so I didn't go. Sold it for 100.00 dollars and spend it on flowers on her grave.

Great entry for the Love Poem writing prompt contest. Good form. You followed the rules...wrote a love poem without using the words love, kiss, romance, soul,heart, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband wife or sexual terms.

She's so beautiful! And even beyond those beautiful eyes, I can see her spirit is beautiful, too. Your poem confirms that. So sad that you couldn't be there when the angels came for her. But since she's in Heaven, she's closer than we know. Best wishes in the contest!

Extremely touching. The poem was simple, understandable, made complete sense. That was awesome. I could feel the pain of loss and yet at the end, I could sense some comfort because of the dream. I relate.
My mom visited me in a dream after she had transitioned. I remember how happy I felt seeing her in the dream.
This poem gave me flashbacks of that night.

A lovely tribute to your mother. Very well written. Meets the criteria of a love poem, without using the words usually associated with one. We all have precious memories of our moms.
