You're depicting what the meaning of life isn't, not what it truly IS ... The contest was to write about the meaning of life in your opinion, not about what it isn't and what caused it NOT TO BE!
Good luck in the contest and thank you so much for sharing your thoughts!
God bless you and your family;-)

There is always two ways to tell a story .. I didn t chose the straight forward way
Thanks for sharing your point of view.

The contest was explicit in stating exactly what the poems were supposed to be about which was the meaning of life. Not what the MEANING of life isn't! True there are other ways of writing a story but inn this instance, the contest started what it wanted from the ones who joined the contest. So it's disrespectful writing about something in a different light when the light is still the same!

Disrespectful ?? Oh mamma ..really.??
.. it s just a poem ... fanstory is always asking people to be original ..
I surrender .. mea culpa
Keep safe!

That has nothing to do with what the contest wanted from us as poets.

I appreciate it in your post you describe the meaning of life as being confusing once Covid started And we were unable to work and do what we normally do. I had a bit of a different approach and quarantine has taught me that the meaning of life is to live for yourself and not for society to work your life away. Although we must do what we can to survive it's really important to take this time for our self and work on personal growth instead of societal norms as we tend to prioritize

Honestly, I am a loner so being in lockdown did not worry me .. catching covid instead scares the crap out of me.
That said ..I was looking at it from the prospect of teens and those in their 20s ,early 30s ..these age groups enjoy socialising on the weekend , going to concerts , having a pizza with their friends ..
all this has been ripped away from them .. even going to school in my country is a shamble.
Lockdown over Christmas was hard for them ..
it has been nearly a year now .. they had ample time to reconnect with their inner self
They want to get back to the things they enjoyed doing ..going to the cinema, celebrate a birthday , a degree , going on holidays ..
Thank you for sharing !

It is difficult to know life without Covid as we have become so used to wearing masks and staying at home. I am fed up with it and I am hoping that with the vaccine we can all start mingling again and happiness will return to our faces, much enjoyed, great positivity here, love Dolly x

I appreciate the positive response
I am tired of this covid too .. I pass hours disinfecting my shopping and washing my clothes if I have been out.
I m not so sure if the vaccines will bring the hoped turning point .. ( sigh)
Keep safe!
