Very well done......I see why you ran well in the contest.....I am an old guy but very much enjoy scribbling together kid verses....I tell the neighbor urchins to wander outside and just make stuff up. I, too spent some time in South JAWjah......and later went to SMU......Godspeed and best wishes going forward........Stu Harrell

Hello anonymous
Great entry for the Kiddies motivational poem writing prompt contest. It's the kind of poem that would appeal to children with good rhythm and a positive story behind the poem.
Nice poem about a tree is cute. I found the word 'tree' through out the poem so many times was repetitious.
Good luck in the contest.

This was excellent. It is very educational. It gets kids to think and reason things out.The last part sounds like Dr. Seuss. You did well. I have not found many here that children would enjoy. Yours is appealing.

Thanks, Liz. I wrote it late at night at the last minute and I think I got a little long winded, so I appreciate your very nice comments!

The conversational style would be a definite plus when reading aloud in an intimate setting. There's plenty of scope for a good illustrator to turn this into a picture book to be enjoyed by adult and child alike.

Thanks, Tony. I wrote it late at night at the last minute and I'm afraid I got a little long winded (and long-sentenced :)
So, your kind comments are gratefully appreciated!

This poem definitely has to get to the winner's enclosure - such a fun write - what kid wouldn't love this poem - an action poem really with lots of fun looking up in the tree - wish I had a 6 !

"What do you see when you look at that tree?" A good line to open your poem for children. Children have vivid imaginations, and this will encourage them to use them

thank you. Wrote it very late last night. Probably needs editing, but I appreciate your comments.

You are welcome. Sometimes the ones we just write in a hurry are the best.

I enjoyed the poem, and I think children would too. I did just feel the rhyme and rhythm fell apart a bit just before the end. Otherwise it is a good entry for the competition as it does encourage children to use their imaginations, to think about possibilities and to learn about different birds.

thanks, Wendy. I wrote it late last night and I know it probably needed more tweaking. Probably too late, now, but thanks for your comments!

This is definitely a great poem for kids. I like your pattern and choice of words. This gives kids something to look for and to imagine. I noticed one little mis-print in this line....BUT... What would be even much better that that
I think you wanted to say than that
