This poem, The Tree, digs at all the readers, I'm sure, as this poignant moment in a young person's life returns again and again.

And fifteen year old romantics today would still be writing much the same! It is a piece for all time - those feelings with which we relate, and remember so well. Good wishes for the contest.

It is nice to reminisce about the good times and the warm summer days of love and sharing simple joys. The nostalgic tone of your poem displays a tender memory that warms the heart.

Exceptional poem reminding us of the good old days. I cant remember a time when ice cream was 10 cents so this must be way before my time lol. Its nice to think that memories can last forever within the markings of the tree love this poem

This is such a sweet and innocent poem just like the young love written about here. I think you chose a good picture for your writing and have written well.

This is a very nostalgic and sad love poem. It is funny the things that stand out when we remember a love that has passed on. This is beautiful and a good entry for the contest.

I love the simplicity and innocence in this poem. It reminds me of the Giving Tree by shel Silverstein. The photo is equally moving. Thank you for sharing such a special memory.

Thank you for this nice review. Far too young, I nevertheless was in love in 7th grade with a blond haired Adonis of a basketball player. Oh, to be so young again. :)

Sorry only five'ers in swtock but enjoyed your trip down memory lane.
Had an experience like this and wrote about it in my last post, "Last Warm Embrace."
Like your style and the emotions in your poem, feel like this was a real life experience.

I love this one. Beautifully written poem. Very touching. My son and his wife carved their names in a tree. Years later they have little boys. One of them
Graduated kindergarten had his pictures taken by the tree. So cool.
