A very well-written fun poem about the motorist who try to beat the system if traffic lights by racing just to be stopped by the next light and have to wait again for the green light.

My friend , these are the stars I have. Yet, this is why I like your work, always creative. Its different, and always a bit of fresh air that I welcome.
Patients is perhaps a virtue, and no less evident in this piece.
Bravo.
Witty, and meaningful.
Hope to read again from you soon.
My best wishes.

Dear debi, there are a lot of impatient people in the world. The driver you described, is only one of them. My, oh, my, oh, my! They cause a high percentage of auto accidents. My, oh, my, oh, my! A topic for a poem? Apparently. (smile.)

Hi Suzanna Ray,
This was an experience I had a few days ago. It struck me as funny so I decided to share. I am glad you enjoyed it.

A funny poem, it really sets the scene of waiting at the traffic lights impatiently and wanting to move on as the other cars go.
Nice use of the repetitive line.
Thank you for sharing

I, too, have often wondered why these drivers speed by me only to be one car ahead of me at the next light! Or on the highway one car ahead of me behind a slow moving truck. Cute poem with a good question I wish I could ask these drivers.

Hi debi. We have all seen people like this. Speeding just to get to a stoplight and sit. LOL I don't think their lives are stress-free, do you?
Life is too short. And the way things are going ..it will be even shorter if we aren't careful. Bless you, my friend. Bob

Hi Bob,
I think they like stress because they go out of their way to create their own. This was from an experience I had earlier this week. He may have been stressed, but it gave me a good laugh for the day.
Thank you for the comments and the fun review.

That certainly doesn't happen here. We live in an ageing community and Everyone's going too slow, if any complaints are spoken. Everyone waves as they pass because it is probably someone they know. Wait! No! That was then. Thirty years ago. It has changed. The kids grew up. Yep! What's the hurry? Well done Debi. Nancy:)

Oh, Nancy, you made me laugh.
We used to be a small town and the farmers would even stop on the road and roll down their pickup windows and just sit there and talk. I remember having to wait. That could never happen now. We are now a city and even called Silicon Slopes by some. Too many high-rise buildings where they used to be sheep on the hills. Progress--got to love it.
Thanks for the fun review. I enjoyed reading it.

Hello debi, you have written what I often experience and wonder what's the rush. Like you write, they speed along, get stuck at the lights, we catch up. Again of they whizz - then stuck at the next light, and so it goes on. They do not always arrive at their destination any faster - just can't resist speed, and wasting fuel. A fun poem from you with a serious message. Well done - regards Dorothy x

Hi friend, it is a pity that people do not recognize a chance when they get one.why on earth did he stop at the light and say hello...oh people oh my!
People are born with different ideologies and wishes.all in there in the heart. But we are not always the one who pull the string...fate is. Believe it or not. There are things that come a deeper past than we can think of. This what Jesus meant when on the cross he prayed to the Lord to forgive his tormentors, for they know not what they did.
Maybe at the fifth he or she would have stopped to say hello, who knows. But ...but the fate works it final blow after four chances. Sad but well written and heartfelt occurrence.
Stay safe. God bless

sit there idling!

Hi Pam,
Yes, this was from an experience I had earlier this week. I was returning from my grocery shopping and turned onto the main highway. A big gray, double-cab, pickup went roaring by me. At the next light, there he was just in front of me, waiting. Repeat four more times. The fifth time I was in the turn lane next to him so I got to proceed when the light changed to the green arrow, but he had to keep waiting because the light was still red for him. So much hurry for so little progress. It made me laugh all the way home.
Thank you for the fun review.
