Ciao mystery poet,
You have ( votes now
There was some tough competition but in the end I chose your entry
I love the countryside and you definitely had a serene childhood , one to envy ..
Growing up close to nature 's wondrous creatures, so much to explore, breathing fresh air ...
Even the storytelling at night .. what a treat .. I love stories .
I really enjoyed to read !

I love your picture which is well chosen to accompany your writing. I count it a great privilage to have spent my earliest years growing up on a far. I think it gave me the foundation to survive my turmoil once we moved. Good write.

Hi
This is a well constructed poem in iambic tetrameter in quatrains of rhyming couplets. It paints a happy, detailed, picture of childhood and your affection for your brother.
To be pedantic you need a comma between 'collie dog, a pedigree'
Good luck in the contest.

This will draw the reader in to identify or gain more insight. Some readers may want to share some of their experiences on their own land or on their grandparents. That was the fun place for us, our grandparent's & later our aunt & uncle's. This was delightful.

This poem is excellent in every respect--skillfully composed (with good rhyme and meter), moving, and vividly descriptive of a childhood well spent with a special brother--and a pet.
