I'm not sure if Merriam-Webster could have taken you any further along the monorhyme trail if you had come up with more lines for your story:)

While your poem is delightfully entertaining in and of itself, it made me think of when I taught preschool and I recited silly verses snd had the kids fill in a rhyming word. Thanks for the memory.

Love this dragon poem, you take the reader to another place. I like the mention of Smaug, it was a surprise. Excellent rhyming of words with a smooth flow of lines that adds to the feel and image of the dragons. Excellent work here.
