SSSSSStupendous series! High time for a Bonussssss. Please forgive me my bass-ackards approach--I'd read parts two and three back when and it occurred to me (DUH) that there must be a part one--as it happened, part four popped up first so I read it--as you will have seen. These slices of your early life are marvelous. Stunning work. Cheerssssss. LIZ

Are these real memories of your childhood? Amazing! I don't remember much of my childhood at all but I like to think that I was just as curious and amazed by things as you were

Thanks for the excellent review and your wonderful words supporting the piece. Yes, these will be real memories of life. This is as far back as it goes; around 1963, when I was two. Seems like a simpler time now. But they will range almost up to the present time and some will not be so specific. More like impressions from life. estory

This sounds as though it will be a wonderful undertaking and I hope you are able one day to have a book of these stories published.

Yes, the reminiscence is well portrayed. Each element observed in the environment we grow up in means more than we realize. My suggestion if I may, is that you break it down into smaller paragraphs that are more inviting to a reader, and have individual dialogue create its own line. Looks to be a very interesting book.

I for one and glad you're back and I look forward to reading more of your rich and well-written memories: "...cold and white and seeming to come from another world. I remember seeing the white moon in the sky and wondering if the snow came from the moon."
So descriptive and evocative of a child's imagination.
One small suggestion, second paragraph the first sentence has one too many 'warm's.
Loved this.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your wonderful comments supporting the poem. I am glad that this sense of the magic of childhood came through in the post. It's always great to hear which parts specifically worked well. I'm glad that image of the magic snow was so evocative of imagination for you estory

This is a nice piece, with lots of visual imagery. Your descriptions are clear and concise, painting a vivid picture in my mind's Eye. I could easily put myself into the story, and now I want to go to grandmas house and check out those wooden toys. Hugs.

e,

'journeys there and back again' - I love that. This style of writing also made me think of A.A. Milne, for some reason. Sweet and soft and utterly engaging. I think this is a marvelous beginning. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your wonderful comments supporting the piece. I never read Milne. The Idea for the format is really from Irving, as I said in the notes. Hope you enjoy the rest. estory

This piece is well written a s moving. It brought me from the inside of an Brooklyn apartment to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, to Cypress Hill via a train. I have been to Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan many times. Your description is accurate. I like you description of snowmen and snow covered tree angels.

Keep writing a stay healthy.
