Dear barbara, promoted or not, to have the chance to share the thoughts of a fellow FanStorian is a wonderful opportunity to widen one's perspective, and to pick up gems of wisdom here and there. The message that this year it's not the worst thing that has ever happened to any of us; does supply that perspective. This post reminds us to use retrospect often; That is one of the gems, I was talking about.

-Maybe you didn't edit it,
Barbara, but it came from
your heart, and that is
what counts for me.
-Besides, you are a good writer, too.
-I give you credit for sharing some
of your story and life events.
-I think if each of us wrote something
like that, it would be different, but
there would still be heartaches and loss.
-Somehow we come through them, and
I think it is through our faith and help
from above; there is no other way
to explain it.
-I appreciate your husband's service
to the country, but I am sorry he had
cut off those who don't see things
the same way.
-Maybe as the year gets better, and
hopefully, it will, things can change.
-I have been joining you in prayer
every since this pandemic started,
and I keep everyone in my prayers.
-Have a good 2021 and thank
you for sharing your honesty.

You are more than welcome. Maybe if things improve, he will look at them differently.

It's important in this piece that you remind the readers that we have all been through a lot over the years. This is a time that seems worse only because we're in the middle of it, and most of our problems are self-generated and not a response to outside enemies. God bless us.

Yes, I think if a lot of people thought about it, there would be a lot of people who would agree with you, because our government took its advice from the medical people, the Covid thing has been handled quite well, it seems politicians have been at that helm in America, not good.
I'm so sorry you had those terrible memories, there can be worse things than movement restrictions, due to Covid.
America is mostly right wing, almost to the extreme, anyone who thinks socialised medicine is a communist plot won't go left, it's more likely to go right. I would be afraid to settle in America because of that one thing...Sickness. My daughter had top cover in America, and still forked out thousands for Jeremiah's birth, it wouldn't cost anything here. We're not left wing, nor is England, France, Germany etc. (McCarthy won't die in America.) happy new year Barbara, to you and your family, your son reminds me of my brother with his entrepreneurial skills, well done, him.
Typo : I haven't post(ed) a ramble. Communism will (be) taking over.

Thank you for understanding. Here in America I didn't pay anything for four of my five babies, one cost me $500.

Hi Barbara, I understand and I see that so much worse can hit a family. And you have certainly been hit very hard. I am so very sorry.
Can I just ask you one question? Do you really know what communism is? Will Biden jail you and kill you if you talk publicly against him. Will he torture you at best?
Well, that's what the Rusians do, that's what China does and that's what North Korea does.
We in Europe believe in social welfare. We don't pay a cent for medical care. Even the most complicated inventions are for free. You would never be left to die on the street if you can't pay. We don't have to pay. It's all done through our taxes. If you came here and fell ill you would be treated no questions asked. Are the whole European Union, including Britain, Communists then? I THINK NOT. Sorry, I had to speak up. I'm half American but where the heck have you got this twisted view from? I may have lost you as a friend and as a reviewer, but I just cant stay quiet anymore. Happy New Year, Barbara. Ulla:)))

Thank you for understanding. I still believe you are a friend and I will not discuss politics. I have seen with my own eyes what is happening here and it's scary. Yes, people who have stood up for their rights have gone to prison. That's all I will say.

You are right about lots of things! The main thing is that yes, things can always be worse! Remembering that is key to having a positive attitude. We all go through trials and hardships throughout our lifetime, and most of the time, other people don't know much about them. People tend to assume that their lives are the only ones that are difficult, but the fact is that life, in general, is hard. You gave me lots of stuff to think about. Thank you.

I'm glad you shared this. Many of us have singly had worse years but we all didn't have them all at once . I guess maybe the misery lives company rule comes into play with 2020. I'm sorry about you son. I lost two, one to a car accident and one to brain cancer. But I'm not here to complain. I'm glad you let it all out. I'm aStephen Minister and I find often that's all people need or want. And I'm grateful for the 14 points. ; )

Thank you for putting things into perspective. The year 2020 may not have been the best for some, while others have had their best year ever.

I admire your son and how creative he is in supporting his family. You must be proud of him.

I hope your husband knows there are those of us who appreciate his service. The US has its troubles right now, but I have faith it will pull through and get back on track. It is still the best country to live in. Look at all the people still trying to get in.

Have a wonderful 2021. I look forward to following your football story.
