I love ramble reflections. It's a little like Jack London's literary technique known as stream of consciousness in his short story called 'To Build a Fire'. My condolences for your many losses. The thing overlooked in losses is the PTSD or post trauma reactions and fallout. I am a dowser healer & am sending healing on all levels if received.

You did a great job reframing 2020 as not the worst year ever. Perspective is everything. I have not cut anyone off - but I agree with your husband. Thanks for sharing.

Barbara:
Like you, I don't think 2020 was the worst year in history. The constant focus on COVID-19 (and I have lost numerous friends to it and know it is a nasty, nasty virus) has caused far too many people to have tunnel vision. As I noted in my "notes" section today, I also believe that God is still in charge.
People forget that God gave humans choice. We are the ones making the horrible choices - not Him. However, I refuse to give up hope.
Thanks for this Texas rant.

Ramblings or not, you have hit the nail on the head. It's difficult enough to be faced with all the problems Covid 19 has brought to our plate, but add in the country's separation and inability to respect each and every person regardless of color, politics or religion is disgraceful. The United States was built on a foundation of people from every walk of life and every country. Why did a handful of disgruntled people blossom into a dark force to be reckoned with. Our foundation is crumbling. People need to wake up before it's too late.

It's not been a great year, but I'm with you, it can always get worse. And like you, I can remember many worse times than these have been so far. I am wondering what's next, like everyone else. I'm just thankful that this life is only preparing for the next! Thanks for sharing.

Happy New Year, Barbara.
I agree with you, it can always get worse. Although I wrote a poem about the ills that 2020 bestowed as the result of COVID, I am aware that we (collectively as a nation and globally) can face worst days or years ahead. Unfortunately, the bible speaks of unfavorable days or years) ahead.
Like you, individually/personally, I experienced unfavorable years via death, etc. However, I realize that things CAN always be worse. It is our attitudes toward the ills that make differences as you eloquently mentioned in your post.
Thank you for your thoughts.

I believe you are right on the mark. Certainly, things can get much worse, but we must continue to keep our focus on God and pray.

I have never shared this but when living among the Navajo and with a group of Christians, I heard a vision told about the Chinese domination here in America and we went into hiding. This was in 1977.
I have never see so many traders in my life as we have them today in our leadership.
Yep, he Hubby is right.
Matter of time.
History says what we have normally last about 2-3 hundred years then socialism, then Communism. Red China is dancing in the streets.

Hi there,
well the editing is fine. lol
It's been a funny year. i have to admit that folk complaining about being furloughed in the UK (being sent home, doing nothing and getting 80% of your salary) sounded like a dream to me. Sadly, as a keyworker, I'm not afforded that luxury. My job got dramatically harder due to social distancing and closures and so on but hey ho.
I quite enjoyed the lockdowns. I didn't have to see or talk to anyone which was nice. I'm not a big people person.
Everyone's situations are different and everything affects us all in a different way.
