This is a great depiction of the end of year feeling most people have. Sorrow, regret, be it from holiday weight gain or missed opportunity, sometimes the last weeks of a year are the most somber. While everyone focuses on the opportunities the new year brings, sometimes reflecting back on what could have been may lead to a better year ahead.

You have used good metaphors. Some readers will identify with your hopes for the new year. This may inspire some. Although right now Covid makes it much harder. This is a good topic.

Happy New Year! It's a year for new beginnings so I hope you find your descriptions or characteristics in the state of awe; many times we waste the wonderful moments that we can experience by not looking the right way, even if it is in a mirror.

This truly is profound. A mirror's brutal honesty can cause a prudent one to change their ways...this poem was enjoyable to read and quite deep. This is wonderfully written, too; the rhyming is constant and makes the poem pleasant to read. I also found the rhythm quite enjoyable!

I think you could have cropped the picture more so I could really see the sadness on your face especially in your eyes.
