Well done Papa Mike, I too stare at the dust particles in the morning sunlight as the particles settle on pictures and mementos of times and things long past. Nice short, not so very fiction.

It is a great write. I don't think it describes you, but it could very well describe someone who had the desire to writem but somehow let the time slip by without allowing the creative juices to flow. It has a good thought near end, because all is not lost. The spark is still there and it's time to dust away the cobwebs and take control.

Great piece of fiction, hard to imagine you did it in five minutes. It is so rewarding when thoughts come fast like that, your mind moves faster than your pen. Love your closing words.

I think we all have moments of self loathing and regret, but then, or knowledge of God, tells us we're precious, and not to cling to the ungodly ideas of an unsuccessful life, which ate the lies out of the pit of hell, our Father God is the personification of creative, and so are we. Beautifully written, you bounced back Mike, HNY, blessings to you and yours, Roy

Wonderful. I love the comparison of dust to dreams and expectations. There are some lovely and lyrical turns of phrase, too: "...particles of nothingness searching for a place to land... Books with never seen words ... the heart flutters, and the mind reacts."
Nicely done!

This is a very unusual and original story. Great descriptive imagery and visuals, and a very nice use of a dialogue, the key to any successful story.
Thanks for sharing it with us, and happy New Year!
