CIAO POET: I like this poem in that you put a lot of thought, work and effort in it. You took me on a star trek with this posting. I thank you for sharing. You deserve to win this contest. If you don't...I believe that the voters were voting with blinders. God bless you, pro poet. cordially: rhonnie69.

That?s sweet of you Rhonnie ..
Well , there are lots of trekkies .. ( biggrin)
I love the film ..
I gave you your first vote because you presented an iconic film in a very unique , original / creative way ..
Now, that is a true FEAT ( smile)

CIAO TEMPESTE: I voted for you too. I knew it was you who made the comment in the foot notes. You gave me a gold star too. That's because you are gold. (bigger smile)Talk more later.

Great summary of the Star Trek IV movie, in your haiku. I am a Trekkie myself, and have seen this great movie. I've seen most of them, and most of the episodes in every series except for the most recent one (and that's because I don't have CBS All Access).
I like the trailer, it brings back the memory of the movie to me, and your Notes are very good. I don't know if I ever had a crush on any of the crew, but if I had to pick one, it would have been Kirk (even though Spock would have been a better choice, since Kirk was an interplanetary player).

Well Kirk?s first true love is the Enterprise ..
I don?t think anyone can hope to compete ( biggrin)
I saw season 1and2 of ST: Discovery ..
Anson Mount?s Pike and Ethan Peck?s Spock are great but the plot in season2 is full of contradictions.
I have not seen Picard and won?t be watching discovery3.
Thank you for the kind review!
-
You're very welcome. Thank you for the 411 on ST: Discovery. Contradictions, huh? I know that I would spot them, too.
God bless you, my friend.
-
Lots of things that happen in season two don?t add up .. and are contradicting.
... but if you are more for the action ..we?ll there is a lot of that .
I?m more focused on inner turmoil of the characters than dazzling space battle ..
JJ Abrams crap reboots were all about action and lacked logic .. ( sigh)
Keep safe!

I'm with you, I enjoy the characters more than the battle scenes. And you're right, Kirk's first love is the Enterprise! You stay safe too, my friend :-)

"Admiral! There be whales here!" Yep, I liked this movie as well. I loved that they brought the whales into the theme in this story. This is a great movie critique and your presentation was also very good. Good luck in the polls! Lynda

Howdy, I also submitted an entry for this competition and wanted to include a video clip but didn't know how. I saw your Trek IV has one so I want to ask you how to insert a video clip onto a contest submission. Thanks

I haven't seen this movie but have watched some of the others. I assume that a humpback is not a whale in this one. Your poem has a smooth read and should do well in the contest. Good luck.

Actually the humpbacks are two George and Gracie ( biggrin)
When you have time check out the video I provided below in notes section ..it gives more details ..
I wanted my poem to just offer enough bait to get those who had not seen the film interested enough to see it..
It came out in 1986 and it holds up well.

Excellent entry to that contest. It's amazing how you captured the essence of that movie in just 3 lines. Wonderful imagery and visuals; and I love that artwork.
This should do very well in the contest; good luck in the booths.

I just wanted to get people who had not seen the film yet interested enough to go check it out.
I love the two whales and the message the film promotes : conservation etc
