Ah, such a lovely entry for the 5-7-5 Beauty of Winter writing prompts contest. Beautiful imagery and icicles can almost tinkle like crystal wind chimes. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

I have often wondered whether it was this phenomenon that gave birth to wind chimes. Probably not since many of them seem to have originated in countries where the temperature never gets low enough. But this must have been wonderful to listen to.

It is easy to visualize and hear the "tingling symphony" of these icicle-laden branches even without that marvelous photo. The use of alliteration and consonance helps to create atmosphere. Rod

with wonderful imagery of the winter
and excellent alliteration of the "s" sounds.
