You have a remarkable memory! The detailed description of the El Monte Grammar School was exact. You are fortunate to have these memories to draw on, much of what we write is from our experiences in life. Some famous author once said, "Write what you know!" And what do we know better than our own life?
On the other hand, it is also true that most what I would call genius writers also have a tumultuous personal life, and write to free their demons.
And most important, of course, "Keep writing!"

I haven't three my demons, I keep them at Bay so I can observe their characteristics before I release them for good. Some of the reviews are so detailed and poignant that I would like to reproduce them in my memoirs

This will draw the reader in to begin reflecting, maybe remembering something they hadn't thought about for a long time: "I can remember the walk up and around the corner to my uncle's house, the smells,
the youthful exuberance and the innocent joy of a brand new day." You already wrote like Dr. Seuss at a very young age. This is fascinating.
I could never write rhyming poetry. One of my classmates wrote them for me in Freshman year. Then I never wrote a rhyming poem until almost 20 years later. One day I sat down and wrote a poem for our newsletter at the Women's Shelter where I worked. I've always preferred to write free verse. I do on occasion write rhyming. I belong to a poetry club here if you want to know about it let me know.

Yes thanks Liz I would be interested, and I would be overjoyed if you would put this story in my book.
I think I should include instructions how to post an entry, much like Gypsy blue rose did in

Thank you for sharing your early writing experiences, Darren. I see this is what you wanted to have for the book - people to share how we got involved in writing. Great! Thanks! Loved that you were inspired by your teacher and these poets!

thanks again Helen and it is a pleasure and an honor to receive your wonderful reviews and to be more apart of this than I ever have been before thanks to my new outlook.
I'm eagerly looking forward to anything that anybody has to offer and it spoke out there, and I'm so happy that you approve of it.
Blessings,
Brother Badger Cull
