I confess--I cheated--read the review--fortunately she figured it out--I got the last line thanks to the clue in your title/desc. Very clever--I'm confused as to how the museum book relates.

Thanks for the review, Elizabeth. The museum book was "Little Red Riding Hood" written in this same way. It must have taken the author forever! It took me a long while just to write a 5-7-5. Let me give you an example of a line from the book:

"Inner flesh they wool fate ladle rate rotten huts grinned mutter."

In a flash, the wolf ate Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother.

Something like that. I was laughing out loud in the museum while I was reading, because I must have sounded crazy reading it aloud.

Man, you sure made me work on this one. I'm puzzling and puzzling and "reading it aloud" But I couldn't "make sense" of the first line. So I get:
When we're sure reading (?) -or- When words you're reading (?)
don't seem to make any sense,
just read it aloud

I'm not sure if you're going to get enough folks to appreciate the effort you put into this. It was an interesting phonetic poem!

Yeah, it's the second one. :) I know, I'll probably get some haters. But I've been wanting to write something like this for a while. This contest was just an excuse. And it's short. Because as hard as you worked to read it, it was pretty hard to make it. I don't know how long it took that person to write a whole story this way!
