Of course we must be referring to the bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to bring to an end the Second World War. Such a travesty, a crime against humanity. Beautifully written my friend, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

A very well-written 3-7-5 poem about the orange koi that swim peacefully in the calm water of the pond unaware of the mushroom cloud in the far distance.

This 3-7-5, Orange Koi, has the right set up and finds the dreamy serenity of the koi pond is being rudely awakened by the nuclear age.

This is almost a horror-Haiku. LOL
In verse, combined with your selected artwork, it is a colorful presentation. I am a big fan of anything orange!
Your mushroom cloud note is a sad reminder of that horrid event in 1945.
Minor editorial: you may want to add a space after 'afar' and before your ...

This is a creative idea and write for the 3-5-7 writing prompt. I enjoyed this - both the picture as well as your words. Best of luck to you in the contest.

Koi is known for confidence, perseverance, luck, and abundance. Wow, what a powerful concept. Perseverance through adversity. Makes me what the mushroom cloud represents or does it represent something other than?

Orange koi are such wonderful little fish- so elegant in their movements. I always love to visit the koi ponds back home.
The shadow of the nuclear blasts were indeed a dark sign of man's inability to actual show humanity to others...awful war, awful results. I wonder if we ever get over the experiences of war as a people or as things in nature.

A reminder of this terrible tragedy here as Japan suffered terribly, I know the history well. You brought some joy here in your 3-7-5, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

No matter what we're doing to each other, nature will endure. We think we are disrupting nature but Nature is smarter than we think and smarter than we think. We will expire but nature will live on. This is a cautionary tale and a tribute to nature.

That's a shocking last line. I would guess that the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were just living their everyday life and nature was continuing calmly until that horrible disaster happened. Best wishes in the contest!
