I've heard that saying but never understood. Just recently I read something that makes sense and could fit here. The saying said "It is not about good & evil. It is about balance. So Satan or the Devil is the disruptor. This could identify the disruptor of details and all of our effort.

I read your poem carefully and noticed Satan having a little chuckle with some devilish humor. The detail could be that perhaps you need a full stop after 'details'. Then the last line would need a capital 'P',
