Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

When your car breaks down far from likely help, you are right to be Wary at first when someone appears, lest you end up in even worse circumstances. While there is a tendency to trust a person looking clean and well attired, a man looking unkempt and smeared with grease is more likely to be a good mechanic, as this tattooed angel turned out to be. God put you back on the road with a new viewpoint, while that man had the satisfaction of helping you -- just as he probably had done for others God placed in his care.

Your heartwarming story is well told in this smooth-reading poem. You set the scene with just enough detail to make the reader feel present as the story unfolds, and relieved when it turns out so happily.

Superb, and aptly illustrated with that striking portrait.

Thanks for stopping by and reviewing my poem and for the nice comments. I also appreciate you pointing out those things that no one noticed earlier. I have corrected them. I've not seen your name in quite some time and I've been wondering where you were.
This was something of a miracle that the car stopped in the only one place where we could have possibly gotten help that day. I've had quite a few unexplained things happen in my life and I always believe it is God's way of looking out for us lower creatures.

You are most welcome, Beth. I see the corrections and have removed my comments about them, as promised.

Yes, I have been too busy to post for many months and my reviewing has been sparse too. Now I am fighting off the infamous virus -- the first illness I've had in over twenty years, and fortunately mild so far. I had anticipated the possibility; so was prepared with nutritional supplements I knew would strengthen my immunity, and they appear to be working.

If we consider God to have a preferred plan for each of us, then it makes sense that He would help us as needed to keep us on track. What He does for us is not always obvious; but, in this case, it was, in order to prompt the change which occurred in your viewpoint.

As I like to say: Miracles are not in the mechanism. Miracles are in the timing. -- Mike

A slice of America eh? Yes, some of us are tattooed Angels of sort. Or something like that.
The poem is entertaining. Could use a once over. Couldn't hurt.
I'm glad he did you a real solid favor at the most urgent of times. Pay it forward? Cool beans.

Since that day, I've met some other Tattooed angles. My daughter married one and then she became one herself. Incidentally this daughters email address is her first name plus coolbeans. LOL She wanted to open a coffee shop and call in Cool Beans. Thanks for the review and comments.

Right on, Beth. It's a small world after all. Cool beans would be a great place. Maybe by the ocean.

I apologize I do not have a six for this wonderful thing. I enjoyed this so much I could just see everything unfold before my eyes. Your art was wonderful and your meter and rhythm were perfect. I think this is the winner right here!
Sending my best today as always and my very best for the contest,

Hello, Beth,

I love the picture, it's a very attractive man. I see how someone like him may seem dangerous and it's true that most people judge a book by it's cover. Good job!

Thank you so much for the review. I judge people so much any more and he is part of the reason. Another is my son-in-law also very tattooed with a troubled background but he is gem.

This is a wonderful, heartwarming tale that reminds us not to judge people by how they look. You have a smooth flow of rhyming words and your poetic form adds to the strength of your story.

Well written story in rhyme. More than that it serves two lessons. The obvious one as intended is not to judge someone on preconceived ideas.
The other is the lesson of helping your fellow man .
Excellent work.

This is a good example of not judging people. Angels come in all kinds of packages. This was a true good samaritan.
Keep writing and stay healthly.

What a lovely little story in a poem. Sometimes it take an event like this one to remind us of the good in people, even if they don't look like us. Very nicely done.

Hi Beth, so true. Appearances don't always are what they looklike. I must admit, if the person, I'd met had looked anything like the photo, I would have been a bit alarmed too. But he turned out to be your saving angel. I loved your poem. Ulla:)))

Thank you Ulla, I'm really not sure what would have happened if he didn't some around. We would have likely had to spend all night in the car until we could get to phone and have some money wired to us so we could have the car towed and fixed

A very well-written story poem about being in trouble in a strange place and with no money or resources is not a good situation, but God knows everything and He provided an angel to help you out.

Thank you so much for the great review and comment. I think God kept the car running until we were at exactly the right spot.
