Sounds like a series of wonderful moments culminating in the most amazing gift of love. It sure is handy to have a godfather as a doctor! I had no idea!

You never did mention your family - which makes me suspect things weren't perfect with them.

Good

I like your story and think a parenting or baby website might be interested in it if you use it as a memoir of what once was. You might start with, "the most special time in my life was in 19__ at the birth of my first child." Don't mention any of the things that are common today, but a shotgun wedding may need a little more explanation to today's mothers. Keep the child's sex secret until the doctor has guessed the sex wrong and says he'll forgive his fee. Good luck with this.

What a beautiful story here and one of love on a couple of levels. You have had some wonderful people in your life! The love of you two as a couple is lovely as well as the love for your new child. The Dr. was incredible as well. Good story!
