This is a capable piece of writing in this form and you have successfully worked in rhymes too.
I like the way you have started as if in a letter. Many people will empathise with this ... perhaps a thank you letter to a distant relative .... write Dear.... then don't know what to say next . Well done

Thanks for reviewing. I would usually agree with you regarding centered lines looking better for a short poem, but in this case when i did that it looked like 3 separate thoughts rather than the 1st line running on smoothly to the 2nd as a linked sentence.
