This is lovely, Gypsy. Not only do you evoke the atmosphere of the water as night closes in, hearing the faint splash of the diving birds; but the internal near rhyme, lagoon/ loons and the d alliteration create poetic effect.

It is indeed very quiet there and loon usually stays in the water for a long time.
You need to correct the note for the previous poem which says 7/7 couplet and it is actually a 5-7-5 Haiku.

Such a cool picture with all the lines of line focusing on that one clump of trees. It does look peaceful but also dramatic at the same time. I liked the alliterative "loons dive for late dinner." Great addition to the renga book.
